Sailing Season Celebration 2021/22

In May, we celebrated the end of the sailing season and the accomplishments of our sailors.

We have had an amazing year with our largest cohort of junior sailors we have seen in many years. We have also had our largest number of juniors racing in the afternoon. A big congratulations to Ruby, Oscar, Tiernan, Kody and Marlee who all completed 5 or more afternoon races.

Our seniors also had some big accomplishments with Money Muncher (Sue and Kingey) having a clean sweep for the herons. Shine On (Hendo and his many various crews) also had a very successful year taking all major trophies for the 125 fleet.

Our Senior Sailor of the Year, Sue Tingay, has shown her commitment to sailing over her many years and has always had time to welcome new members, sailors and especially juniors.

Our Junior Sailor of the Year, Zach Hurrell, has been an amazing core member of our junior sailors, always offering to help but also completing his first ever afternoon races. Our Most Improved Sailor, Kody Brown, is in his first year of sailing but has completed several races throughout the season.

A huge thank you to all our volunteers who have made this season so successful. Particularly Paul Tagg who was awarded our Contribution to Senior Sailing Award and Peter Henderson who was awarded our Contribution to Junior Sailing Award (proudly sponsored by Eyre Refrigeration and Electrical).

Congratulations to all and we hope to see you next year!
